Aquasol ® Welding

The Aquasol Corporation, a leading manufacturer and converter of water-soluble paper and tape, is a privately held entity located in  North Tonawanda, NY, a northern suburb of Buffalo. The business was formed in 2003 and offers a full range of capabilities for fabricating including slitting, forming, laminating, coating, rewinding, die cutting and printing.  The Aquasol Corporation has successfully marketed water-soluble products to various industries, domestically and internationally.  Our customer base is vast and of varying sizes and includes many well known and Fortune 500 companies.

Aquasol’s success stems from our commitment to technology, invention, and innovation.

Besides fostering an innovative environment, the Aquasol Corporation holds these core values:

Ø  Design, Engineer & Develop Unique, Value Added Products

Ø  Partner with Equally Ambitious Companies to Develop the Best Technology

Ø  Invest in Research and Development

Ø  Provide the Highest and Most Consistent Quality

Ø  Train Staff with Technical Knowledge

Ø  Provide Exceptional Customer Service

Some of the common and well-known industries we serve include:

TIG Welding:   Traditional purging systems consume excessive amounts of gas, leave dangerous residues and require countless hours of labor for set up and removal.  Aquasol water soluble purge dams can be effortlessly dissolved and flushed out of the system with the introduction of water.  This process was further enhanced in March 2006 with the introduction of the patented EZ Purge; a pre-formed, self-adhesive purge dam. Welders are not required to form, cut or construct purge dams. EZ Purge allows the welder to expedite set up and completion as well as save volume of noble gas used (typically Argon).

Pressure Piping: To prevent improperly gapped joints which can cause cracked welds, socket weld spacer rings were invented. The American Society of Engineers (ASME) developed a code requiring that an axial gap of 1/16” inch (1.5mm) be provided between the pipe end and the socket.  While existing spacer rings do provide the required gap, they have deficiencies.  Some fall out when the socket is positioned vertically.  Others corrode over time.  These deficiencies lead the Aquasol Corporation to develop SoluGap, a uniquely designed and water soluble socket weld spacer ring. The patent-pending product is made of water soluble board die cut into a ring shape with three point tabs to hold the spacer in place, even if placed upside down. As the product is composed of methyl cellulose, it will dissolve, eliminating corrosion issues associated with other spacers.

Oil & Gas: Water accumulates in natural gas wells as they age, preventing the gas from rising. To maximize the life and gas production of the well, the water must be extracted or altered to allow gas production to resume. One of the most cost efficient methods for enabling the gas to flow freely again is to add a surfactant to the water, converting the liquid into foam. The method in which the surfactant is delivered is fundamental to the cost and labor efficiency. Aquasol water-soluble paper can be formed into a tube, filled with the surfactants, then dropped into a gas well to deliver surfactants to the bottom of the well. This method compares to pouring vast quantities of chemical solutions into the well to reach deep, underground sources. This method is inefficient and costly when compared to using the water soluble paper soap stick method.
